Black Beach House

"Direkte Lage am Strand ( schwarzer Strand - daher der Name Black Beach). Unsere Gastgeberin war sehr zuvorkommend und immer ansprechbar, sogar auf deutsch! Diese liebenswerte Art haben wir sehr genossen. Wir haben jeden Tag super leckere frische Bananen von der Insel bekommen. Wer ein paar Tage länger auf Floreana ist, sollte sich ein paar Lieblingslebensmittel mitbringen. Es gibt in den beiden Shops nicht wirklich viel zu kaufen. Aber alles notwendige ist da. Man sollte bei der Planung unbedingt auf die Abfahrtszeiten der Fähre achten. Es gibt nicht jeden Tag eine Fährverbindung."

"Neben der tollen Lage am Strand und Abgeschiedenheit der ganzen Insel ist vor allem die Gastgeberin Ingrid hervorzuheben, welche mir zunächst den Ort gezeigt und mich mit den wichtigsten Einrichtungen der Insel vertraut gemacht hat. Man sollte sich idealerweise schon vor Buchung mit ihr in Verbindung setzen, da die Fähren nach Santa Cruz (entgegen einiger Angaben auf unseriösen Webseiten) NICHT täglich, sondern nur 2-3mal wöchentlich fahren. Sie spricht tolles Deutsch und leckere Cocktails kann sie auch mixen."

"Anscheinend sind auf Galapagos selbst die Kakerlaken geschützt. Man sollte sich also durchaus auf einige recht stattliche 'Mitbewohner' im Zimmer einstellen. Je nach Jahreszeit können es wohl auch Spinnen sein. Insektennetze über den Betten könnten wohl zumindest das subjektive "Sicherheitsgefühl" etwas erhöhen."

"Unfassbar schöne Lage, direkt am Strand mit phänomenalem Sonnenuntergang. Ein Einod und Paradies für sich. Schnorchelbucht in unmittelbarer Nähe, wir konnten Schildkrötengeburten direkt vor der Unterkunft miterleben. Floreana als Insel ist sehr ruhig und praktisch unentdeckt, was einen so fühlen lässt, als sei man fast der einige Reisende auf diesem Planeten. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und ordentlich, Meeresrauschen im Hintergrund die ganze Nacht mit inbegriffen. Die Gastgeberin Ingrid spricht tatsächlich sehr gutes Deutsch und macht mit allen Ankömmlingen nach Ankunft einen kleinen Dorfrundgang, um einem alles zu zeigen. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite Person, die immer ansprechbar ist und sich um alles kümmert! Vielen Dank dafür :)"

"We had a totally lovely stay. The house is right on the beach, just a few steps away from a refreshing morning dip in the sea. All cooking facilities are available and easy to use. As we were the only guests, we had the entire house to ourselves, including all the hammocks and the many little benches and seating spots around the property. These made it perfect to enjoy the view, the silence, the sun, and the unique energy of the place. Everything is within walking distance, as it is a small island, so you can simply relax and enjoy the views, the vibes, and the incredible wildlife, turtles, sea lions, and so much more, all right at your doorstep. Thank you, Ingrid, for making our stay so pleasant. You are an amazing host, always available when needed, but never intrusive. We could not have asked for more.."

"The place is incredible! Just on the beach and great snorkeling 🤿 Perfect place to relax and enjoy Galapagos. The kitchen is well equipped and there is plenty of space. Ingrid is super friendly and such a great host, we loved her ❤️ We booked only one room but she let us use the other room as well, because no one was there at that time."

"Our host Ingrid could not be there in person, but she responded to all my questions super quick on WhatsApp and her sister Erika welcomed us instead. She was so helpful and friendly, brought us fresh fruit and even something to help me when I had a cold. The location of the house is incredible (directly at the beach and super quiet) and it has everything you need, even a very friendly gecko living in the house :)"

"It would be nice if it was a little bit cleaner (lots of dust and spider webs), especially the kitchen area and supplies. There were 2 cockroaches but I think this can't be avoided on a remote island on the beach. The house is being expanded with a second floor at the moment, so there is some building work going on and maybe it won't be as secluded and quiet in the future."

"Ingirid was lovely and happily flexible with us changing dates to stay due to ferry's etc which we really appreciated. She was waiting for us when we arrived and showed us some important places in the town (restaurants, bakery, bus stop etc). Room was very clean, bed was comfortable and air con worked well. Beautiful spot right on the beach and free bustling snorkeling area nearby where we were often the only people there. Would love to go back and stay again. So peaceful"

"Would have been nice to know about booking ferry's with more notice as we didn't realise they didn't run every day and ended up missing a night of our stay (we weren't charged for this)."

"Wonderful spot, right by the beach. Ingrid is an attentive host, and worked hard to ensure a tour to Post Office went ahead, rounding up people from other hotels to take part. She also gave a tour of the village, ensuring we knew where to get supplies. Make sure you bring a little food with you, as the shops and restaurants open fairly sporadically. Basic rooms, but everything you need, including air conditioning, and a small bar in the beautiful garden open in the afternoons."

"The water needs boiling before drinking on the island, which isn't a problem as there is a kitchen here, but perhaps adding some bottles to store the water in while it cools would be useful. We had a fridge full of pans!"

"Very relaxing. Comfortable bed. Ensuite bathroom with hot water. Kitchen. WiFi. Hammocks. Right on the beach. Helpful and friendly manager. Peaceful stay (most of the time)."

"Construction work was going on at random times... drilling and banging, stomping overhead as the owner seems to be adding a floor. It kind of ruined a few mornings/ afternoons. Please do the work when you don't have bookings!"
