"Robert was very friendly and accommodating, the house itself is beautiful, and decorated in a stylish manner. Definitely a change from the usual. Garden was lovely for a quiet sun-downer too."

"It's not often that you get the chance to stay in a stately home complete with chandeliers and antique furniture without paying a significant amount of money. Robert has generously opened up his beautiful 1870 mansion so it is within the reach of normal travellers. The house is exquisite, has so much character and beautiful furniture. We felt very privileged to stay there. There is also a lovely garden, a place to store our bikes and a kitchen to make hot drinks. Robert is a very kind and gracious host."

"One of the highlights of our cycle trip was staying at Maison d'Hercule. The Maison was stunning, set in the centre of Mayenne, yet very peaceful with beautiful garden to enjoy. Robert was a extremely charming host and we really enjoyed meeting him and learning about the restoration of the Maison.
