"Perfect for an overnight stay on our journey through France. It is an independent double room with en-suite shower room and toilet and a small patio located at the far end of the host's garden. You park on the driveway, it is very secure with the gated entrance operated by a digicode. The facilities are modern and very clean and there is an air conditioning unit in the room which would be very useful in hot weather but we didn't need to use it . Also useful is the small fridge to store milk and breakfast essentials you will have to bring or buy for your stay. I felt the room was comfortable and fine for a night or two but it is on the small side and I found the mattress too firm. The centre of Chartres is 5 minutes away by car, about 30 min on foot using the dedicated footpath. We drove into Chartres for dinner as it was raining the evening we arrived and parking in town is free after 6.00pm"

"Finding the place first time was a bit tricky as it is in a modern estate with all the streets built in a one way system. If you turn into the wrong street you have to go round again the whole way! Definitely need to rely on your (updated) satnav! Despite good instructions we got a bit confused with the entry keypads. You press a button on the small gate first but the key is situated in a key box on the big gate and you use the code on that keypad! Same key operates both the gate and the room door. Luckily the host was at home and came out to the rescue !"

"This is the perfect location for a short stay if you're traveling by car and whether you're just passing by or hoping to visit Chartres for a couple of days. It's simple but well maintained and has all the comforts you need. The location definitely requires a car, but other than that it's secure and not too far from the city."
