"Very nice host, trying to accommodate all my requests. Very authentic stay close to the volcano. The volcano and the red glow are visible from the hut."

As all activities and transport are organized by the host, I sometimes had to wait quite long time for the driver to arrive. This was not the hosts fault, but it is important to know when planning a trip to Tanna.

Wer hier Urlaub macht, sollte unbedingt einen Mietwagen buchen, da Supermärkte und sonstige Infrastruktur etwas entfernt zu finden sind. Mit Mietwagen konnten wir umfangreiche und sehr schöne Tages- und Mehrtagesausflüge unternehmen. Der kompetente Anlagen Manager Maurice gibt wertvolle Ausflugs- und Einkaufsinformationen."

"The place is not a 5-star guest house, and I was pleasantly surprised by the way I was treated. The staff were lovely, the rooms were clean, and the facilities were better than some of the hotels I have stayed in across Africa. My bed was even a TV bed — I connected my MP3 player and listened to music through the bed speakers… great experience! The location is excellent, with the airport just a stone’s throw away. The staff even went out to buy takeaway food for me when I requested it, which I really appreciated. I do wish they had WiFi, but I understand they may be keeping their costs down. However, I was given a pre-loaded SIM card to make calls to my family, which was a thoughtful gesture."

"It is really decent. Not the best, but very sufficient for me. For 50$, I definitely got more than I expected. Free internet and electricity and kitchen and washing machine."

Not too clean (still very acceptable and I would return). Single bed (would loved to have 2 separate beds). Air conditioner is fairly weak.

The jacuzzi was a fantastic addition, and having a private beach just 400 meters away was a dream! We spent a beautiful day and night enjoying the peaceful surroundings and watching a stunning sunset by the sea. The two kitchens, one large and one smaller, made meal preparations easy and seamless for our group. The host was incredibly responsive, ensuring our check-in was smooth and that we had everything we needed. The thoughtful amenities provided made our weekend stay feel effortless and relaxing. We couldn’t have asked for a better location or experience! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with a large group."

"Also wäre ich bei Mama zu Besuch, übertrieben viel Frühstück und sehr fürsorglich. Ich bin mit dem Motorrad unterwegs und wurde vor zwei tagen nass und habe mich erkältet. Es gab gleich Medikamente und Tipps! Also wie bei Mama!"

"Wir waren nur für eine Nacht da, weil wir eine Unterkunft in der Region benötigten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, die Zimmer erfüllten die Erwartungen. Die große Terrasse ist sicherlich toll, wenn man länger dort ist. Wir hatten nur den einen Abend und waren an diesem bei Freunden."

Der Hinweis, dass man aufpassen sollen, wenn man duscht, damit der Dampf nicht den Rauchmelder auslöst, was dann 100 Euro gekostet hätte, war schon etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig. Tür geschlossen halten und nicht zu heiß duschen.

Das Appartement ganz oben, mit 2 getrennten Schlafzimmern (ideal für Familie mit Kinder… 1 Zimmer mit kleinem Fenster, das nicht geöffnet werden kann, da so hoch oben in der Nische 🫣😅 2. Zimmer mit Dachfenster… geht zur Straße raus. Für mich kein Problem, wenn du aber unter Schlafproblem leidest, sehr laut.

Only the batteries for the remote control of TV were done. If you could change them for future guests would be nice.

Das Appartement ist für 4 Personen (zumindest was die Schlafmöglichkeiten betrifft) allerdings können 2, max. 2,5 Personen am Tischlein sitzen zum Essen.

"Ein super nettes und vor allem günstiges Hotel. Die Familie war sehr freundlich und wir haben und sehr willkommen gefühlt. Die Straße ist sehr wenig befahren und die Zimmer sehr ruhig und sauber. Direkt nebenan gibt es Cafés und Restaurants so weit das Auge reicht. Wir können das Hai Nam Guesthouse sehr empfehlen."

"Lovely owners who are caring and helpful. They kindly provided a few names of local tour guides. Nice shower. Good kitchen. Quiet. Close the town."

Intermittent electricity due to poor infrastructure in Mount Hagen. The room is outside off a veranda so when it rains and the wind blows you might also get wet when going inside to use the toilet. I would have preferred a firmer mattress and slightly larger room.
