MALATINA

"Das Malatina ist ein uraltes Haus mit viel Charme. Man sieht, dass die Gastgeber einiges an Arbeit investiert haben. Die Einrichtung ist ohne Schnickschnack und übersichtlich gehalten, aber es ist fast alles da, was man braucht. Das Schlafzimmer im Keller ist eine Sache für sich, es war uns ein bisschen zu gruselig und wir haben im Hochbett geschlafen. Terrasse und Grill sind vorhanden, konnten aber wegen Sturm und Regen nicht genutzt werden. Warmwasser gab es zu jeder Zeit ausreichend, Stromversorgung und WLAN sind stabil. Die Gegend ist absolut ruhig, die Gastgeber sind jederzeit über WhatsApp erreichbar. In der Küche gibt es eine Grundausstattung zum Kochen. Fehlende Dinge werden zeitnah gebracht. Man fühlt sich sehr gut betreut. Alles in allem ein gelungener Aufenthalt."

"Wir haben definitiv einen Kleiderschrank vermisst. Das Haus ist für mobil Eingeschränkte absolut ungeeignet, es hat viele steile Stufen und schmale Durchgänge. Aufgrund des heftigen Winds hat es 24/7 gezogen und war entsprechend kalt, ist nicht die Schuld der Gastgeber, diese Häuser sind eben für heiße Sommer konzipiert. Mobile Heizgeräte sind vorhanden, machen aber wenig Sinn, wenn man zum Fenster raus heizt - haben wir deshalb nicht genutzt. Wer hier wohnt, sollte sehr vertraut miteinander sein, Bad mit Klo ist gleich neben der Küche, die Tür schließt nicht wirklich und man hört überall im Haus alles mehr als deutlich. Wenn die Sonne nicht scheint, ist es drinnen recht finster, trotz Beleuchtung. Sind aber alles Kleinigkeiten und wie gesagt, für das Wetter können die Gastgeber wirklich nichts, da hatten wir einfach Pech."

"There wasn’t really anything I didn’t like. Future guests should just keep in mind that this is an unconventional type of accommodation. My advice is to take a good look at the photos. For me, it was a comfortable stay, but not the kind of comfort you’d expect from a hotel."

"The atmosphere of the place is amazing. You feel like you are in a historical Maltese setting. It is very authentic and aesthetic. We especially loved the glass corridor with lots of plants and a small garden right inside the apartment. It’s also located in Rabat, which means it's just 20 minutes from Mdina. There are also small stores, a bakery, cafes, and other places to visit near the apartment, which was very convenient."

"Despite the authenticity of the place and the great landlord, we encountered a few small issues: the toilet flush didn't work properly, some of the lamps were out, and there was condensation on the kitchen floor, making it slippery. We couldn’t figure out what caused it or what we should do. Additionally, the towels smelled bad (though they were replaced REALLY FAST)."

"A bit damp downstairs in February, would recommend a dehumidifier there to help with humidity from the limestone. Also good trick turn on the fan with the heat and the whole home is nice and toasty. No paper towels"

"The place was amazing, everything that you need is there, it’s a very nice apartment in a strategic position. It’s owners are very welcoming and available for help. Highly suggested if you are looking for a nice accommodation outside Valletta."

"Feels like an authentic Maltese house experience - it was very interesting to experience a very different style of home, but still with all the familiar and comfortable amenities. We especially liked the patio area, which was well shaded and kept cool even during the middle of the day."
