Big Mountain Hostel

"Gutes Hostel mit super Preis-/Leistungsverhaeltnis, ich war insgesamt ca. 2 Monate dort. Die Mehrbettzimmer sind schoen gross, haben Schraenke fuer jeden Gast sowie Steckdose und Lampe fuer jedes Bett. Doppelzimmer sind auch gut. Unten befindet sich eine Agentur, wo man Touren buchen und Material leihen kann, ebenfalls empfehlenswert. Dort bekommt man auch ohne Buchung gute Infos. Die Mitarbeiter und der Besitzer sind sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Kueche ist gut ausgestattet und sehr gross, das Fruehstueck recht einfach."

"Ich hatte einen tollen Aufenthalt im Hostel, die Leute sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Direkt unter dem Hostel ist eine Agentur in der man Ausflüge und Expeditionen buchen kann. Die Zimmer haben eine warme Dusche und die Küche ist groß und geräumig. Die Boulderwand mit Restaurant war ein großes Plus. Ich würde immer wieder kommen! :)"

"Die Küche war sehr groß, gut ausgestattet und sauber. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Besonders mit Sonia habe ich mich sehr nett unterhalten. Ich durfte schon morgens in mein Zimmer und das Gepäck konnte ich nach dem Check-in kostenlos lagern. Die Betten haben Vorhänge"

"Der Boden im Dorm war zu Beginn dreckig, das liegt wahrscheinlich an den ganzen Wanderschuhen."

"Das Hostel ist sehr zentral gelegen und hat eine Bar oben mit feinen Pizza. Das Hostel hat eine angenehme Stimmung und das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Ich hatte Glück mein Zimmer mit vier Betten die ganze Zeit allein zu haben. Ich war aber auch in der Nebensaison, in der es sowieso nicht viele Leute unterwegs waren."

"Wenn man früh aus dem Haus muss, immer das Hostel fragen, ob jemand da ist, um die Türe zu öffnen. Ich musste deswegen einmal die Tour verschieben, wobei das Hostel die Extrakosten dankerweise übernahm.."

"Good location very close to the plaza de armas and most shops and tour agencies. They also have a tour agency in the same building as the hostel but I didn't book with them so can't say anything about that. The rooms are spaceous as are the common areas: they have a pool table, table tennis, roof top terrace and small climbing gym (pretty unique I think!). Staff was always superfriendly and knowledgable and could help with arranging day trips or multi-day trips. The hot showers are a blessing after a long day out :)"

"Don't get too excited for the included breakfast. It's only plain bread, butter and jam. There's hot water for tea and coffee which is nice. But breakfast only starts at 7.30 which is too late for everyone going out for hiking. The street in front of the house is quite loud even at night so be sure to bring earplugs. The whole place has an air of not being renovated for several years. I personally didn't mind, because all amenities work reliably but don't expect anything too facy."

"I stayed here 4 nights. It’s a very well-located hostel full of fellow backpackers. The staff was very nice and helpful. There are plenty of common rooms with table games, billiards table, bouldering wall and a bar. You can book tours here as well."

"it was a bit old and not in the best shape, rooms and toilets too dark and not enough light there were not many ptivate quiet spots to make a phone cal and etc"

"Most social hostel in Huaraz IMO. The 2 owners are very nice and the included climbing wall is a massive benefit, good place to meet partners and socialize with likeminded people."

"Arty the owner was a great social fair man. And Sonia is a cheerful face each day. This hostal is cozy and located in a great place. Central to many cool hiking experiences"
