Cast Away

"Der perfekte Ort für Leute, die mal nichts besichtigen , nicht aus- und einpacken, nicht hetzen wollen. Der Besitzer und seine Mutter tun alles für ihre Gäste. Man merkt, dass ihr Hauptanliegen nicht Geld verdienen ist. Er spricht sehr gut Englisch und stand für mich um 5 Uhr morgens auf, um mich erst mit der Fähre und dann seinem Auto zum Expressboot nach Bangkok zu bringen. Wir aßen zusammen zu Abend und hatten gute und interessante Gespräche. Diese 5 Tage waren ein Höhepunkt meiner dreimonatigen Reise."

"It was an amazing stay for five nights. Our host P made us so welcome and our room and terrace was perfect. P and his lovely Mum cooked us the best food I’ve had in my five weeks in Thailand. He even washed our laundry for us. We were able to use the bikes free of charge to ride around the island. We came here to get away from it all for a few days and got exactly what we needed! I can’t recommend this place enough and will most definitely be back on our next visit. Thanks P!"

"This a one of my favourite place in Thailand now, it’s a quiet family owned accommodation, Panit is an amazing host and I had a great stay. I was lucky to come when there was a lot of fireflies at night. The food is amazing !"

"We had such a wonderful stay at Cast Away. The hosts welcomed us very warmly into their space and tried to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The meals were large and delicious, and they made sure to ask about any foods we couldn’t eat. This will be my go to spot on Koh Kret!"

"This place is out this world, and perfect for someone who doesn't require modern luxuries but instead wants to connect with the nature and themselves. The homecooked food was maybe the best during my 3 month trip in Thailand, I was absolutely blown away by both the quality and the quantity. Hammocks for relaxing in the common outside area. Cute details scattered everywhere. Bikes available for exploring this amazing island (highly recommended!). Wonderful hospitality with the friendliest people, I will miss this place for sure."

"I liked everything! But a couple of things to note: I was there during the hottest time of the year and the weather truly was HOT! The cabin is not sealed, so the aircon is not as powerful as in some other places, but it was just enough for me during the night. During the day I enjoyed the fact that my little balcony was in shade most of the day, but since there are no cool inside spaces available, it was a bit rough for my weak nothern body :D Luckily in the common outside space there are fans that you can point at the hammock and just lay there waiting for the sun to set :P There is no wifi in the room, only in the common area. Read a book! ;) Also a good thing to note is that on Booking.com this place is listed as an All Inclusive (with three meals per day), but in reality it is Half Board (breakfast and dinner). This was not a problem for me at all as the breakfast was plenty, and I didn't have much appetite during the day because of the heat anyway, but just good to know. There are restaurants and cafés within a biking distance, and you can also store your own food in the common fridge."

"Liked absolutely everything about this little gem 💎 outside of Bangkok CBD. The island itself is so peaceful during the week and the host is making sure you got everything you need for your stay. Food offered was delicious and plentiful. Basic bamboo bungalows still have that old Thai style which I absolutely adore. You got bicycles to borrow so you can easy ride around Koh Kret. Definitely will recommend this place for a Bangkok escape or just for your whole stay in Bangkok. It's about 45min drive to CBD from the pier and the lovely host with great English will help you to get across the river with the boat. Will be back 🫶"
