"Das Galton House stellt eine kleine Oase mit ein paar Zimmern, die zum gärtnerisch gestalteten Innenhof zeigen, dar. Es liegt in einem Villenviertel Windhoeks auf einem Hügel. Galton House ist eine Art "Boutique B+B", das architektonisch sehr ansprechend gestaltet ist, dies betrifft auch die Inneneinrichtung. Gefallen haben auch die Nachhaltigkeitsbemühungen (Sonnenenergie, intelligente Ideen zum Wassersparen, ohne an Komfort zu verlieren). Das Frühstück und die Liegequaltiät in den Betten sind bestens, die Angestellten sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Autos können im versperrten Vorhof geparkt werden. Die ideale Basis, um Windhoek zu besichtigen oder vor dem Rückflug noch einen Tag zu entspannen. Abendessen wird optional angeboten."

Es stimmt, was andere Rezessionen sagen, dass nämlich Hunde bellen. Diese sind aber auf benachbarten Grundstücken untergebracht und keine "Straßenhunde" und bellen nur sporadisch - keine grobe Störung in der Nacht.

"Accommodations are simple but very comfortable. Nice swimming pool right out the hotel room door. Short walk to the water. We really enjoyed diving. My 18yr old son got PADI certified. They did an awesome job with him. Nassar was his instructor. He was awesome! Area was very safe."

No complaints. Please understand that tourism is severely impacted by the Gazan war. Many hotels and restaurants are closed and those that are open often are operating in a limited capacity. For example hotel restaurants might not operate at all. This affects all hotels. There were almost no tourists as of November 2025.

"It was a nice hotel.our room was very clean and the service is one of the best I've ever seen. The staffs are super friendly and are happy to help us whenever we need. I would strongly recommend!"

Die klassische Hintergrundmusik beim Frühstück war gewöhnungsbedürftig und nicht jedermanns Sache.

"Der Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft war einfach nur toll. Alles ist sehr bodenständig und einfach. Aber gerade dies passt zu der atemberaubenden Lage. Das Essen ist einfach nur der Hammer, sehr, sehr lecker."

Die großartige Küche spricht sich natürlich herum. So war es nicht selbstverständlich, dass man selbst in der Nachsaison als Übernachtungsgast zum Abendessen einen Platz im Restaurant bekommt. Wir mussten genauso fragen und ggf. reservieren wie jeder vorbeikommende Tourist. Aber im Endeffekt hat das alles sehr gut geklappt.

"Very strongly recommend: Airbnb is part of a beautiful villa in safe residential neighbourhood. Private parking on the ground of the villa. The studio with the two double beds is huge and spotlessly clean. The bathroom is also very spacious. The hostess and host are extremely kind and very respectful of privacy, etc. Optional breakfast is offered - excellent coffee, fresh croissants or pain au chocolate, etc. You can hear the ocean which is some 200 m further."

We liked absolutely everything. We could list many more things we liked like the swimming pool which is long enough to swim into and warm.

"Die Kukummi Lodge ist etwas ganz Besonderes. Ryan und Danny leben echte, persönliche Gastfreundschaft. Ryan hat uns in einer echten Notlage geholfen: Unser Fahrzeug war nicht verkehrstüchtig, er kümmerte sich intensiv um die Autovermietung (Reifenproblem), organisierte Lösungen und holte uns sogar zu Wanderungen ab und zurück. Das ist absolut außergewöhnlich und gab uns ein enormes Gefühl von Sicherheit. Wunderschöne Lodge, großartige Atmosphäre, tolles Essen und ein herzliches Team. Schon am ersten Abend wurden wir familiär aufgenommen und verbrachten einen unvergesslichen Abend. Eine Lodge, die sich nicht durch Luxus, sondern durch Menschlichkeit abhebt. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung – wir kommen definitiv wieder!"

"Essa foi a melhor estadia q ja fiquei em São Paulo, a marli é um amor, seu esposo tbm é super receptivo, o quarto é bem confortável e muito limpo, o banheiro tbm é muito limpo, a casa é aconchegante e familiar, sem falar na localização q é ótima, próximo ao mercado e ao metrô. Fiquei a vontade e me sentindo em casa mesmo,a marli tbm prepara um café da manhã com muito carinho ,eu e meu esposo com certeza voltaremos em outras oportunidades."

"It felt like a little haven to come home to, somewhere quiet away from the city! The owners (Raquel and her father Jorge) are truly lovely and the staff are always happy to help with anything. I felt very safe staying here especially with the gated entrances. The garden was beautifully kept, consisting of tropical plants and flowers. The food was fresh and the staff made lunch and dinner if requested too. AC worked well, shower was hot, bed was comfy! I unfortunately got struck down with food poisoning on my last day, so we needed to check out later than expected so I could rest - they didn’t bat an eyelid when we asked and even provided me with some fresh watermelon/bread upon request. I sadly left a pair of my special earrings in my room too, and when Whatsapping Raquel, she confirmed her staff had found them and very honestly kept them safe so I could arrange shipping to the UK!"

Nothing we didn’t like, bear in mind it’s a B&B so make sure you get water bottles for the room etc which you can buy there for $1, there isn’t a safe in the room either if you’re considering bringing valuables (not that I didn’t feel safe with my belongings there).

"Used as a base as we were visiting family , so a good location for that. Fairly quiet location & only 15 minutes stroll to Front St . Owner wasn’t seen but was easily contactable by mobile. Basic accommodation but clean and tidy."

Liegt oben auf dem Berg, du brauchst ein Auto oder E Bikes. Das Bett ist sehr hart. Sauberkeit ginge besser.

"Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Management. Ist uns bei vielen Dingen sehr entgegengekommen. Vielen Dank dafür. Die Lage in der Altstadt ist super und trotzdem nachts ruhig. Es gab sehr guten Kaffee, Tee und selbstgebackenen Kuchen."

Einzig die Gäste die in der Nacht anreisen und die Türen zuknallen statt die Klinke zu benutzen. Einige kaputte Duschbecken müssten ausgetauscht werden. Ansonsten 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
