Boote in Ghana

"Sehr netter Gastgeber. Sehr außergewöhnlich auf einem Boot zu schlafen."

Trotz der außergewöhnlichen und guten Erfahrung muss man ein paar Punkte nennen - für die der Gastgeber jedoch nichts kann. Wer einen leichten Schlaf hat, wird hier kaum zu schlaf kommen. Das boot schaukelt immer wieder ganz leicht, immer wieder "schlagen" wellen ans Boot oder etwas knarzt. Es ist alles sehr hellhörig und man hört nachts viele Geräusche. Auch wird es sehr warm im Schlafzimmer des Bootes.

A wood cabin but with all facilities such as fridge, single ring cooker, air conditioning, huge varanda with room for a dining table and chairs plus recliner chairs and a washing rack. Wonderful views of the Duero river. Pick up the train (one kilometre walk away) to Pinhao - 30 minute journey along the edge of the river-for food shopping and long, lazy lunches or to Porto for a day out. Rail fares in Portugal are very cheap and half price if over 65!"

A request: a reading light in the dining room/lounge area

"Der Aufenthalt auf einem Boot war für uns etwas vollkommen Neues. Darum waren wir auch wirklich über die Ausstattung überrascht, eine gemütliche Sitzecke, eine außergewöhnliche Küche, ein Bad und vor allem eine unheimlich gemütliche Koje mit Leselicht. Alles befand sich in einem sehr guten und sauberen Zustand. Wer einen etwas außergewöhnlichen Urlaub machen möchte, ist mit der Buchung der Black Lady gut bedient. Die sehr netten Gastgeben sind sehr bemüht und freundlich."

Ein bisschen hat uns die heiße Dusche gefehlt. Wir vollkommenen Bootsneulinge hatten auch zu Beginn einige Schwierigkeiten mit dem etwas öligen Geruch. Und der Umgebung (Fischereihafen).

"Tolle Lage, super Voederdeckkabine mit Schlafmöglichkeit für 6 Personen! Sehr nettes Personal! Gutes Essen mit Blick auf das Wasser und den Rathaus!"

"Our stay on the Yathra Houseboat will always stay in our minds and hearts. This is our second time within 3 years. We had a vacation of our life with all the comfort and pampering by the staff on the boat. The cruise on the river provided rare glimpse of few exotic birds and a large group of monkeys. The narrations by the Manager of the Dedduwa Boat House about those birds were very informative. The Skipper was kind enough to stop along the river bank to watch the birds closely and take photographs. The candle-lit dinner and the night spend on the upper deck was simply magical. The next day my husband even managed catch some fish while cruising. The staff arranged them to be prepared for our lunch and that dish was out of this world. The staff went an extra mile to make us happy. The bedrooms and the facilities on board were above standard. This is the best destination we spend while in Sri Lanka. Keep it up Yathra and we will back again next year."

The only disadvantage is the big telecommunication tower just to the side of the hotel. I personally prefer not to be microwaved.

"Our trip was amazing, we arrived at the night to beach with bioluminescent, stay at the camping, witch made special for us. In the morning we went to diving with tortuges"
