"I loved the cozy boat house vibe and the thoughtful staff—they even gifted a local boat tour, which made the stay fun. The location was quiet yet easy to get around, and the space was clean and comfortable."

There’s barely anything to fault, but the spot is a bit far from busy areas. It wasn’t a real issue for us, though, since we wanted a peaceful stay.

"Sehr kinderfreundlich und spannend. Es gibt einen Spielraum mit Airhockey, TT-Platte, Kickertisch und Dartscheibe. Frühstück bietet alles was man benötigt von herzhaft bis süß."

"Wir waren zu zweit 3 Tage auf dem Hausboot. Das Hausboot liegt sehr gut, fernab der Straße. Frühstück, Lunchpaket und Dinner waren sehr gut. Housekeeper Mr. Shaban hat sich sehr gut um unser leibliches Wohl und persönliches Wohlgefühl gekümmert. Es gab auch jederzeit leckeren Kaschmir-Tee. Der Manager Mr. Ahmed hat uns wertvolle Tipps zu Ausflügen in die Umgebung. Der persönliche Kontakt und Informationsaustausch war sehr angenehm. Gern kommen wir wieder."

"Der Aufenthalt auf einem Boot war für uns etwas vollkommen Neues. Darum waren wir auch wirklich über die Ausstattung überrascht, eine gemütliche Sitzecke, eine außergewöhnliche Küche, ein Bad und vor allem eine unheimlich gemütliche Koje mit Leselicht. Alles befand sich in einem sehr guten und sauberen Zustand. Wer einen etwas außergewöhnlichen Urlaub machen möchte, ist mit der Buchung der Black Lady gut bedient. Die sehr netten Gastgeben sind sehr bemüht und freundlich."

Ein bisschen hat uns die heiße Dusche gefehlt. Wir vollkommenen Bootsneulinge hatten auch zu Beginn einige Schwierigkeiten mit dem etwas öligen Geruch. Und der Umgebung (Fischereihafen).

Parkplätze direkt vorm Schiff, kosten allerdings ungefähr so viel wie die Übernachtung. Das ist aber ein grundsätzliches Stockholm-Problem.

"Our stay on the Yathra Houseboat will always stay in our minds and hearts. This is our second time within 3 years. We had a vacation of our life with all the comfort and pampering by the staff on the boat. The cruise on the river provided rare glimpse of few exotic birds and a large group of monkeys. The narrations by the Manager of the Dedduwa Boat House about those birds were very informative. The Skipper was kind enough to stop along the river bank to watch the birds closely and take photographs. The candle-lit dinner and the night spend on the upper deck was simply magical. The next day my husband even managed catch some fish while cruising. The staff arranged them to be prepared for our lunch and that dish was out of this world. The staff went an extra mile to make us happy. The bedrooms and the facilities on board were above standard. This is the best destination we spend while in Sri Lanka. Keep it up Yathra and we will back again next year."
