"Man übernachtet auf einem Boot in der Marina, alle Bars und Restaurants in Laufweite, trotzdem angenehm ruhig gelegen. Die Kajüten sind nicht groß, also nix für Reisende mit viel Gepäck, dafür sehr gemütlich. Morgens gibt’s nen tollen Blick über die Marina auf The Rock. Auf dem Boot kann man verschiedene Getränke kaufen, es ist hilfreich wenn man Pfund einstecken hat. Frühstück ist im Preis inbegriffen und wird im Restaurant The Ship serviert. Für Gibraltar eine bezahlbare Variante für eine Übernachtung. Kostenpflichtige Parkhäuser sind fünf Minuten zu Fuß entfernt."

Nur zur Info für Reisende: An Bord gibt es Toiletten für das kleine Geschäft. Duschen und alles andere erledigt man in der Anlage der Marina, ca. 3 Minuten zu Fuß.

"Der Aufenthalt auf einem Boot war für uns etwas vollkommen Neues. Darum waren wir auch wirklich über die Ausstattung überrascht, eine gemütliche Sitzecke, eine außergewöhnliche Küche, ein Bad und vor allem eine unheimlich gemütliche Koje mit Leselicht. Alles befand sich in einem sehr guten und sauberen Zustand. Wer einen etwas außergewöhnlichen Urlaub machen möchte, ist mit der Buchung der Black Lady gut bedient. Die sehr netten Gastgeben sind sehr bemüht und freundlich."

Ein bisschen hat uns die heiße Dusche gefehlt. Wir vollkommenen Bootsneulinge hatten auch zu Beginn einige Schwierigkeiten mit dem etwas öligen Geruch. Und der Umgebung (Fischereihafen).

"Our stay on the Yathra Houseboat will always stay in our minds and hearts. This is our second time within 3 years. We had a vacation of our life with all the comfort and pampering by the staff on the boat. The cruise on the river provided rare glimpse of few exotic birds and a large group of monkeys. The narrations by the Manager of the Dedduwa Boat House about those birds were very informative. The Skipper was kind enough to stop along the river bank to watch the birds closely and take photographs. The candle-lit dinner and the night spend on the upper deck was simply magical. The next day my husband even managed catch some fish while cruising. The staff arranged them to be prepared for our lunch and that dish was out of this world. The staff went an extra mile to make us happy. The bedrooms and the facilities on board were above standard. This is the best destination we spend while in Sri Lanka. Keep it up Yathra and we will back again next year."

"Ein außergewöhnliches und unvergessliches Karibikerlebnis! Absolut zu empfehlen! Der Gastgeber Franck ist sehr nett und er erklärt auch wunderbar die Handhabung des Dingis, so dass man auch jederzeit an Land gehen kann. Möchte man aber bei so einem paradiesischen Hausboot gar nicht :-). Mehr Karibik geht nicht!"

"A different place to stay. A wood cabin but with all facilities such as fridge, single ring cooker, air conditioning, huge varanda with room for a dining table and chairs plus recliner chairs and a washing rack. Wonderful views of the Duero river. Pick up the train (one kilometre walk away) to Pinhao - 30 minute journey along the edge of the river-for food shopping and long, lazy lunches or to Porto for a day out. Rail fares in Portugal are very cheap and half price if over 65!"
